Dryvit ™ Repair

Are you looking to get your Dryvit ™ Repaired?

We specialize in repairing Dryvit ™, also know as EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finish System) or synthetic stucco. Our service area includes Southeastern Michigan and Toledo Ohio. Unlike other companies repairing Synthetic Stucco is the only thing we do. If you do not do something every day for a living you should not do it at all. We have be repairing Exterior Insulation and Finish System for a living for over 15 years and have been in the industry for over 27 years.

Repairing the product is much different than installing it from scratch. It is easy to install the product and have it look nice to an uneducated customer. The hard part is when that install fails and you need to figure out why and what is the best way to fix it so it never happens again. The guys that do the full installs have little to no training or experience in moisture intrusion or finding solutions for product failures.

What makes us stand out from the competition is the fact we do it all. We will remove the the existing damaged EIFS all the way to the studs and replace it. Including the OSB or Fiberglass board.  We install the liquid moisture barrier and apply the Exterior Insulation and Finish System. Then we can caulk the windows and doors. We address flashing issues. We also paint with the manufacturers brand paint which is a superior product when painting the synthetic stucco.

Most customers don’t realize that after the synthetic stucco is complete all the windows and doors will have at least a five eights of an inch gap around them. This is a manufacturer spec for movement. This gap needs to be caulked. Typically it will have a closed cell backer rod placed in the gap and caulk applied over the backer rod. Some, contractors will not put an expansion around the doors and windows because they do not want to explain why there is a gap around the windows and doors they do not caulk, but not having the proper expansion causes problems down the road when there is no room for movement.

Roof rakes should have a two inch clearance from the shingles to the stucco and have a kick out flashing installed. This ensures the roof run off does not get behind the system.

Dryvit is a register trade mark of Dryvit Systems, Inc. and we are in no way affiliated with them.
