EIFS Inside / Outside Corners Specification
An overview of the EIFS Inside / Outside Corner Specification
In this post we will take a look at the EIFS inside / outside corner specification. The basic process of doing a corner is pretty much the same as a flat wall with a couple exceptions. When doing an inside or outside corner you have to treat the corners the same as you would the joints in the board when it comes to applying the moisture barrier. The corners will have grid tape applied to them and Backstop NT Textured applied over the Grid Tape. The process of sticking the foam is very similar as when applying the foam to the flat wall it is staggered, well the same goes for the corner. Each leave going up the corner must be staggered. It is also important to make sure the foam never ends on the vertical of the substrate board. The same as you would for any flat wall. When base coating corners should always be double meshed.
